9:24 pm - Deathly Hallows Prediction Meme
What do YOU think is going to happen in the 7th Harry Potter Book? Take this Meme Girls Original Meme, and share your predictions with the world.

1. Let's start off easy. How do you think this book will be different from the previous books in the series? How do you think it will be the same?

2. Is Snape a friend or foe?

3. Do you think Harry will have to give up his life to defeat Voldemort? If so, do you think Harry will stay dead?

4. Are there any characters who've played relatively minor roles in previous books that you think we'll see more of in this one?

5. Do you have any theories about what the remaining horcruxes are?

6. Let's talk death count. Who do you think bites the dust and why?

7. What role, if any, will Dumbledore play in this book?

8. Do you think we'll find out anything else about the night Harry's parents were killed? If yes, any guesses as to what?

9. Draco redemption: yay or nay?

10. Pick one thing that has happened in a previous book that you think will be important for this one, and tell us why.

9:29 pm - Character Name Meme
Pick three characters from one or more of your books or WIPs and go to http://babynames.com or the baby name site of your choice to look up the meanings of their names. Copy and paste the meanings and your characters' names into your blog, and tell us if the meanings fit.

Jen's Answers

1. Lilah Covington, the narrator of PLATINUM. If we take the origin as Hebrew, Lilah means "lily." Other than drawing up visions of Lilly Kane from Veronica Mars, that sounds a little too delicate for my girl. As an English name, "Lilah" is both a variant of "Delilah" (which means "desired and languishing") and the feminine of Lyle. My Lilah is smart, strong, and highly desired, and she uses all of that to strategically protect the vulnerable side no one realizes she has. While Lilah doesn't seem at all like a female Lyle, I think the Delilah comparison works- even though her boyfriend isn't exactly a Sampson.

2. Annabelle Porter from TATTOO. Apparently, "Annabelle" means grace and beauty, which I'm guessing are the meanings of "Anna" and "Belle." This fits my Annabelle pretty nicely. Even though she's known as the shy one of the group, she's got more grace under pressure than Delia, Bailey, and Zo combined, and she's the type of person who will probably never realize how pretty she is.

3. Bronwyn, the MC of my just-for-fun project. Apparently, this name means "white-breasted." Ummmm... no comment.

So what about you guys? Do your characters' names fit?

2:04 pm - 7 Questions: 'Ships
Meme Girls Original Meme

Which 'ships do you sail? Take this meme and share the love for your favorite fictional couples.

A quick dictionary:

"Canon" means the pairing appears in the book/tv show/movie in question. Non-canon means that it does not. So, for example, Harry/Ginny is Harry Potter canon, but Ginny/Draco is not.

"Crossover" means putting two fictional worlds together. So Buffy/Wolverine is a crossover pairing, but Buffy/Angel is not.

"Ship" is shorthand for "relationship." So if you're a big fan of Bella/Edward, you're a Bella/Edward shipper. And now, for the meme...

1. Favorite Canon Book Pairings:
2. Favorite Non-Canon Book Pairings:
3. Favorite Canon TV Pairings:
4. Favorite Non-Canon TV Pairings:
5. Favorite Crossover Pairings:

10:04 pm - Buffy Quiz...
I actually think this one is relatively accurate. I'm definitely more of a Buffy/Dawn mix than a Lilly/Duncan one!

You scored as Buffy Summers. You are a very strong individual. You do, however, have some trouble admitting how you truly feel. You've experienced a lot during your life, but you more than manage. Always willing to help, you're a great friend.

6:52 pm - Veronica Mars Quiz
I'm on a hunt for the best quizzes on the net, so if you have any recommendations, be sure to let me know. This one is for those of you who watch VERONICA MARS. If you don't, you should (before it- *sniff sniff*- gets cancelled). Apparently, I'm a mix of Lilly (who's dead), Duncan (who has the personality of a sheet of cardboard), and Backup (who's a dog). I have to wonder what that says about my personality...

So which Veronica Mars character are YOU?

You scored as Lilly Kane. You were once the most popular girl in school, but now you are six feet under. You come back in random blue-tinted flashbacks and scare the bejezzus out of a lot of people when you do.

2:15 pm - A Note on Fun
Hey guys!

This is just an update to clarify a couple of things about the site and its purpose, which is fun. I like memes. Robyn likes memes. We both like to procrastinate, and thought it would be cool if there were a place that gathered together lots of memes (especially memes that promote YA literature). There's been some confusion about whether it's okay to post the memes on your own blogs- and the answer is a vehement YES! It's great if you can tell people you got the meme here, but we know that as memes get passed around, the original source gets edited out, and that's fine, too! We're ecstatic when a meme starts making the rounds, no matter what, so please don't hesitate to take these and have fun with them- add on your own questions, get creative about your answers- whatever makes this fun for you is fine with us.
